Kara Age Rice Plate

Ennju - New York, NY

The food at Ennju has yet to disappoint me. I've had rice plates, donburi, and bowls of udon soup, all fresh and tasty and very reasonably priced. It's good to know that the fried chicken is made to order (expect to have to wait a few minutes while it's being prepared), and the veggies that come with it are fresh and brightly colored.

I'm also partial to the hot and sour soup, spicy with lots of napa cabbage, and though it's eerily jiggly, the green tea mousse is a light, delicious dessert.

Ennju is one of my favorite places to stop for a casual, quick lunch when I'm in the neighborhood.
