BBQ Sampler Platter + Cowboy Chili
Cowgirl BBQ & Western Grill - Santa Fe, NM
We went for the food - which was quite good - but stayed for the "ambiance," - if you can use that word for a raucous joint. The mix of people was great - ranchhands straight from work along with local city folk and then sprinkle in some tourists and foodies and 'cue lovers.
The BBQ was pretty good, but the chili was the real revelation for me, "cowboy chili." Which means chili padded with lots of jack cheese and jalapenos and raw red onions and cilantro and sour cream and best of all, fritos underneath it all. I never make a regular bowl of red any more.
