Near Rock Star BBQ status... one feels inclined to stop at 17th Street to see what it's all about, and while I was not overwhelmed (may be a tad over hyped) I did enjoy my meal a lot. It's one thing to make ribs for a contest and another to get it right for the masses - I'd say overall they do a darn good job at 17th Street.
My side of beans and rice was tasty, a nice blend of spices and sausage. The Mac and Cheese and Beans were ok though. Why do sides seem to get slighted or just left on average at a lot of the BBQ places? Having said that, the fries were top notch, fresh and hot.
My biggest complaint would be that everything seems to have rub on it. In the end that's just a bit too much for me. If you love your rub then no big deal.
