Fried Crawdad Sandwich with Onion Rings

Tender, sweet fried crawdads on a fresh french roll. A light swipe of mayo, crisp fresh lettuce and a fairly decent tasting tomato. The sandwich was accompanied by a crisp dill pickle wedge and choice of french fries, onion rings, or slaw. I chose the onion rings which were beer batter fried...crisp on the outside and tender and sweet on the inside. There was not even any hint of greasiness.
The dinner menu provides platters of crawdads, but since we stopped for lunch, we chose the sandwich. The burgers and fried shrimp basket also looked very good.
The restaurant is located in an old building and is half bar/ half restaurant. There is outdoor seating. The restaurant was clean and friendly. The crowd was local, Bay area types, road trippers and motorcylists...all enjoying a great meal.

Nice review - I like how you single out "fairly decent tasting tomato." It is amazing to me that I can't get a REALLY decent tomato unless it's in season - it may just be me or that local markets haven't found it necessary to go beyond bulk-hydro or heirloom suppliers. Out of season usually means out of luck :(
